But I’ve compiled a short list of some of my favorites and I hope you use it as a reference the next time you have an out-of-town guest or just want to try something unique that Houston has to offer. This list is in no particular order of favorites, I love it all!Pet Photograher; Portraits on Allen Parkway; Evin Thayer Photography; Houston Photography; Professional Photography; Houston Mayor; Annise Parker; 1. Houston is home to an incredible number of museums (there are 19 in the Museum District alone!) Pick just about anything that interests you and you will find it in a Houston museum. From the Modern (Contemporary Arts Museum Houston) to the Macabre (National Museum of Funeral History), blasts from the past (1940 Air Terminal Museum) and into the future (Space Center Houston), Houston has it all! 2. Hermann Park is an amazing and varied green space. I just went to the McGovern Centennial Gardens and it is very cool. 3. Mexican Food, it’s a Houston staple! I foresee many more trips to the gym for me now that El Tiempo Cantina just moved in next door to my studio at Westheimer and Taft, yum! 4. Downtown Houston Theater District, our theater district is home to eight performing arts organizations and more than 12,000 seats. Miller Outdoor Theatre is free to the public and hosts incredibly talented diverse performances 8. The Galleria has shopping for everyone, good food and ice skating, all in 2.4 million square feet, making it the largest shopping center in Texas. 9.
